How to throw a great art party at home!
An art party is a great birthday party choice for creative kids who love to make things. Not only can kids enjoy putting their own unique spin on things, it’s also a pretty inclusive activity. Even those with reduced mobility, who may be left out of sports and other active parties can take part in our workshops. We’ve compiled a list of our top tips to keep the mess to the minimum while your guests have as much fun as possible.
The kitchen is usually the best party spot.
Usually the kitchen is where to host your party. We typically suggest that you set up on area with a hard floor and a big table for guests to get around. It’s easier to keep mess to a minimum when we can quickly deal with the spillage.
Have a Sharpie on standby
At the end of the party your guests will be on the lookout for their creation to take home. Avoid the chaos by heading around the group to put your guests name on their works of art as they finish up.
Old clothes are the way to go
As much as we appreciate a good party outfit, we always recommend telling your guests to avoid their best clothes just on the off chance there are any spillages. It allows everyone to relax and have fun without having to worry about keeping their clothes clean.
We recommend ponytails
Tie long hair back when getting crafty, especially when slime or glue are involved. Ask your guests to come with their hair in a ponytail to save any emergency hair washing! Sometimes it can help to have a few extra hair bobbles on hand in case someone has forgotten theirs.
Take the theme to the extreme
At Makes and Bakes we aim to inspire! Therefore we theme our craft workshops to whatever your child is interested in. Inspiration can come from favourite character, an animal, a family pet or whatever you can imagine. When it comes to parties, we encourage big thinking!
